A distinguished health care professional, Dr. Harish “Hash” C. Chintapalli currently excels as a staff neuroradiologist at the Veterans Affairs Hospital Houston. In addition, he also teaches as an assistant professor of radiology at the Baylor College of Medicine. As a neuroradiologist, Dr. Chintapalli focuses on the brain, the neck and the spine and works in conjunction with neurosurgeons and neurologists. He does a lot of preoperative cases and cases of procedures for numerous departments, primarily neurosurgery, neurology and internal medicine.
Dr. Chintapalli obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 1997. Upon receiving several offers after his residency, he chose not to accept but to train more and focus on neurology. After working in private practice for a number of years, he felt that there was something missing and pursued teaching. Shortly thereafter, he had an opportunity to work in the VA Hospital, which became the perfect opportunity for him in terms of teaching and being part of medical school. Dr. Chintapalli’s father is a retired doctor in VA Hospital of many decades.
To remain abreast of his industry, Dr. Chintapalli maintains professional membership with the American Society of Neuroradiology and the American Head and Neck Society. Outside of his primary roles, he enjoys spending quality time with his two daughters. Each day, he aims to teach his daughters to be charitable to those people who are not fortunate enough to get the things that they need. Looking toward the future, Dr. Chintapalli hopes for his children to live healthy and happily.
